The Grand NYC Apartments

Not as bad as people made it sound. It was close to Penn station and Times Square and the room for on night for 2 people was only $100 + a $40 deposit that you get back. If you aren't high maintenance then this place is ok.

I’m surprised by all these negative comments. We had a nice, spacious and clean room. The shared toilets were also ok. Great location and good price. Definitely recommend!

I was expecting this hotel to be awful by all the reviews I was reading... I was so pleased with our stay. We were on the 8th floor and had a very comfy and clean room. The shared common bathroom was very clean and nicely renovated. All staff was helpful and was able to fulfill our need of a late check out. Not quite sure where all the bad reviews are coming from! (:

Although I only stayed here once and for just one night, it was an awesome stay. Easy online reservation, easy check in, and quick check-out. I believe depending on the room, you have to wait for them to go and check your room for the deposit return, but I waited only about 15 minutes. I'm not sure why you guys have such bad reviews, but I suppose some people had better expectations. Parking garage directly across the street, ESB around the block and The Edge down the block. Close to Penn Station and Madison Square Garden. Nonetheless, I would definitely stay again and definitely recommend.

Stayed here few years back. A kind of place you go to write your life worths novel or shoot yourself. Loved the black weed guys downstairs at the corner every afternoon. Eaiser to sleep with the sirens if stoned.

I don't see what everyone seems to complain about here. First off, I am a life-long New Yorker, and I can assure you... for this price and PRIME location? VERY affordable place to stay! Rooms are not as tight as people are saying. Try staying in a Bowery flop-house motel for $80/night, and you WILL KNOW small, dirty and UNSAFE! Clean, comfortable and quiet rooms. SAFE! Extremely friendly, great staff is honest and friendly. Have ALWAYS been SO friendly and accommodating! Getting to know the owners, they are just as awesome too!!! Probably, the most well-kept, satisfyingly unknown secrets of midtown!! Also, one of the most reliable hotels in the history of NYC, by-the-way! If people only truly understood how TERRIBLE it is staying at other comparable imitators' dumps!! Once you get a room, you will never be interrupted, or interfered with what-so-ever. Probably, one of my FAVORITE Manhattan hideouts, BY FAR! I have stayed here from time-to-time, over about the last 3 years and no problems. Listen, people need to TRY to understand that, similarly priced competition, doesn't come close! Perfect spot for you, if you are NOT WEALTHY, and on a strict financial budget on a visit to the city that NEVER sleeps!! Can't be beat!

The front desk treats you like a human. I've been staying here almost a month. I'm going to continue to stay here for a few months. The people that stay here are pretty decent. I don't like having a security deposit every time I change a room but I'm assuming you get that back. The staff is amazing the places extraordinarily clean. I see a lot of people complain on here. I don't understand I feel safe here I recommended this to a lot of friends and they've actually showed up for a few nights. And I still would continue to do that. I recommend this every time I see someone say hey I need to go to New York City on a budget I tell them about this place and they try to inquire. I give this place 10 out of 10

Ok, so this is a hostel, not a hotel or motel. We had a room on the sixth floor with a shared bath. The room was cute and clean. The restroom was always clean. They have two elevators, but one was always broken down. The best part is its location. Wow, right on the corner of Broadway and 5th Ave., very close to subways, both on Broadway and and Park Ave. It's like 3 blocks to Mison Square Garden, or 10 blocks to Grand Central Station, and 4 blocks to the Empire State Building.
